Activities in Genoa

We want you to have the possibility to experience the Italian lifestyle for two to four weeks, so we have a wide range of activities and optional extras for you to choose from. Genova is a lively city without many tourists, and this helps to reinforce the idea of the “real Italian experience”: everyone you will meet will speak to you in Italian!

Early mornings and evenings are delightfully fresh; even in the summer it's a good idea to have a sweater or light jacket handy for a walk along the beach, a performance at the theatre at the old port, or a concert in Portofino’s charming Piazzetta . Numerous golf courses make our area a golfer's paradise too. At the weekend, you may also want to investigate interesting sights farther away, such as the Cinque Terre or Portovenere, just an hour’s drive away. Or venture a little further afield into Tuscany to explore historic Pisa and Lucca, and Puccini’s house at Torre del Lago.

Excursions

We offer the following activities:

A tour of the city on an open-top bus and a guided tour of the port. The guides will speak in Italian as all the activities are designed to make your stay as authentic as possible.
A visit to local forts. This trip will take the you outside of the city to the Parco Urbano delle Mura where there are the ruins of medieval forts.
Cooking class. Learn about Ligurian cuisine and how to make pizza by hand!
Italian wine tasting: you can sample a large selection of fine wines in the welcoming surroundings of a local wine bar.
A night at the opera in the Teatro Carlo Felice : you will experience a real Italian opera in one of the most prestigious theatres in Italy.
Welcome and Goodbye Cocktails. At the school, we organise two separate nights for an “aperitivo” giving you the chance to try some of the characteristic dishes of our region. With these events, we make you feel at home in the company of a close knit, friendly group.
Sailing. This is an optional activity for short trips along the coast. Again, this activity highlights the fact that we are not just a language school.
Visit to the Cinque Terre and visit to Florence with a guide. Both of these full day trips are optional and organized during the week end.
